About NOEE

The National Order of Electrical Engineers of Cameroon (NOEE) is the professional body representing electrical engineers and derivative professions across the country. We set and uphold professional standards, support our members throughout their careers, and represent the profession before government, industry, and the public.

About NOEE (National Order of Electrical Engineers / ONIGE)

The National Order of Electrical Engineers (commonly known by its French acronym ONIGE — Ordre National des Ingénieurs de Génie Électrique) is the official regulatory body governing the practice of electrical, electronics, computing, and telecommunications engineering in Cameroon. Established by Law No. 2000/014 on December 19, 2000, the Order ensures that high-tech industries and electrical infrastructure across the country adhere to strict safety standards, professional ethics, and international quality guidelines.

Core Mission & Vision

NOEE fosters technological innovation, elevates professional standards, and ensures that electrical and electronics engineering serves as a reliable engine for Cameroon's economic and industrial development. By regulating entry into the profession, the Order protects both public safety and the integrity of the nation's technological landscape.

Key Pillars & Responsibilities

Professional Regulation & Enrollment: Registers qualified engineers, verifies academic credentials, and maintains the official National Roll of Electrical Engineers permitted to practice on Cameroonian soil.

Standardization & Quality Assurance: Promotes rigorous technical norms across power systems, modern electronics, embedded systems, computing, and telecommunications infrastructure.

Ethics & Discipline: Enforces a strict code of ethics and professional conduct across public and private practice, shielding the industry from unqualified personnel.

Capacity Building & Mentorship: Supports continuing professional development, aligns training programs with modern industrial demands, and actively mentors early-career engineers.

Scope of Disciplines

NOEE oversees registered engineers across three primary domains:

Power Systems & Electrical Energy: Generation, transmission, high/low voltage distribution, and renewable energy grids.

Electronics & Computing: Embedded systems, automation, software engineering, robotics, and hardware design.

Telecommunications: Network infrastructure, signal processing, wireless communications, and cybersecurity.

Core Values

  • Trust in technical competence and national infrastructure.
  • Integrity in Action through adherence to ethical guidelines.
  • Service to Humanity by delivering safe, scalable technological solutions.
  • Partnership with academic institutions, government bodies, and international engineering associations.
